SCHOLARSHIP and PUBLICATIONS
I have experience of a wide range of teaching and learning environments: from first year undergraduate through traditional postgraduate units to executive seminars, masterclasses and post experience courses for senior managers from the emerging democracies of Eastern Europe, China, Africa and South America. More recently I have developed materials and activities for a series of staff and executive team development seminars in the public, voluntary, trade union as well as commercial sector. I have designed, delivered, developed, and managed programmes at each of these levels. I lead an international team of researchers investigating service quality issues in the public and voluntary sectors. This has included studies of Home and Residential care services for the elderly, Environmental Inspection services, Public Library services, Personnel services, Legal services, Financial Services, Architectural services, Leisure Centre services, Housing services, Hospitality and Conference services and Police services. Most of these studies have resulted in publication in important academic and professional journals. During the period since 1990, I have produced 5 books; 19 refereed journal articles; 29 refereed papers in national and international conference proceedings; 80 unpublished national and international conference and seminar presentations; and 16 other miscellaneous publications.
